In the framework of K-Force project, University of Tirana has broaden the collaboration with another EU project in the field of Disaster Resilience. The National Territorial Planning Agency in Albania since 2016 is a partner in BRIGAID (Bridging the Gap for Innovations in Disaster Resilience) project, part of the Horizon 2020 program of the European Commission. with lead partner Technische Universiteit Delft. The focus of BRIGAID is innovation clustered in 3 main components of climate change, such as floods, droughts and extreme weather.
Through their common field, BRIGAID team and K-Force team from Albania have been collaborating since the beginning of the lifetime of both projects, by sharing ideas, participating in respective project events, by involving participants in the BRIGAID Project in teaching in the new master program developed at the University of Tirana in the framework of K-Force project.
On October 23rd, 2019 as part of the cooperation with BRIGAID Project, the team of K-force from University of Tirana took part in the event "Afternoon with Albanian actors - Let's get together" from 14.30-17.00, at Hotel Plaza, Jeronim De Rada room, organized by National Agency for Territorial Planning (AKPT).
This event was attended by representatives of the project leader and partners of BRIGAID, and other stakeholders in the field of Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change in Albania.
Moreover, during this event of BRIGAID project Dr. Perseta Grabova held a presentation in order to inform all participants about the objectives of K-Force project and the achieved goals of the project as a promoter of competences, knowledge and skills in solving problems in the field of Disaster Risk Management in Western Balkan Countries.
Joint future initiatives and collaborations have been discussed also with other stakeholders.
