Kick-off meeting and Opening Conference of the K-FORCE project

The first transnational kick-off meeting of The Erasmus + project "Knowledge FOr Resilient soCiEty"-K-FORCE, took place on 12-14 December 2016 in Novi Sad, Serbia. University of Novi Sad, the coordinator of the K-FORCE project, hosted this three-day event at the Central University building and at the premises of the Faculty of Technical Sciences.

The K-FORCE project proposal has been selected for funding under ERASMUS+ program - Capacity Building in Higher Education. Project started with its implementation in October 2016, and will last for three years. The overall project objective is to foster modernization, accessibility and internationalization in the Disaster Risk Management and Fire Safety Engineering HE field in Western Balkan countries. This will be achieved through development of innovative master studies implemented in six HEIs in the region and PhD studies implemented at UNS, Faculty of Technical Sciences (FTS) as well as through continual knowledge improvement of staff already working in this field through newly developed LLL courses.

First day of this event was organized as an opening conference and was attended by the representatives from all partner institutions, University and Faculty management, Vojvodina provinical government, students, representatives of media and other supporters of this project.

During the first day, participating partners presented their institutions and experience relevant for the K-FORCE project implementation. The main objectives and activities within the project were also introduced in the form of short work package presentations.

The second day was dedicated to project management, quality control, dissemination plan and action plan for next six months. Apart from this to financial and technical management aspects of the project implementation were discussed.

Representatives of WBC HEIs (University of Novi Sad, Higher Education Technical School of Professional Studies in Novi Sad, University of Tuzla, University of Banja Luka, University of Tirana, Turgut Ozal Education SHA EPOKA University) also participate in Western Balkans Board Meeting on 14th of December. On Western Balkans Board Meeting there were bilateral consultations on the specific aspects of the project.
